PDF Write Board Privacy Policy

ORCA Inc. ("we", "us") explains here how the app "PDF Write Board" (including its Android, iOS and web versions; the "App") handles your information.

1. Our approach#

The App needs no account, and it does not send your data to us. The files you open and everything you write on them are stored only on your device.

2. Information stored on your device#

To work, the App stores the following on your device. None of it leaves your device, and none of it is sent to us.

• The PDF and image files you open, and your annotations on them
• Your list of recent files and where you left off
• Your settings (pen colors and widths, button layout, language, etc.)
• Your purchase or license status (for example, how long you can use the App)

All of this is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data in your device settings. We keep no copies, so it cannot be recovered.

3. Device features#

• Camera: only when you use the document-camera feature to photograph notes or handouts and open them as pages, and only with your permission. Photos are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. The App does not use the microphone.
• Files: the App reads only the files you choose or share to it from other apps.
• Sharing: only when you choose to export or share, the App hands images or PDFs to your device's share feature. From there, the app or service you pick handles them under its own policy.
• Keeping the screen on: while the App is in use, it stops the screen from dimming so it does not go dark during class.

4. Purchases#

Paid features (subscriptions and one-time purchases) are sold through Google Play or the App Store. Your payment details, such as your name and card number, are handled by Google or Apple; we do not receive them. The App checks with the store, on your device, whether your purchase is active. Google's and Apple's privacy policies apply to that information.

License keys for organizations contain the organization's name and the license terms. The App checks a key only on your device and never sends it to us.

5. What the App does not include#

• Ads
• Analytics or usage tracking
• Automatic crash reports
• Any form of tracking

6. Web version#

The web version is served from Firebase Hosting, run by Google LLC. When a page loads, Google's servers may log your IP address, browser type and access time as part of normal delivery. We do not use these logs to identify or analyze you.

7. When you contact us#

If you contact us by email or other means, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply and to improve the App, and we do not share them with others unless the law requires it.

8. Children#

The App is designed for teachers and other adults who teach. It is not directed at children under 13. The App collects no personal information from anyone. If students appear on camera during class, please follow your school's or your own policy.

9. Changes#

If we change this policy, we will post the change on this page. For important changes, we will also mention them in the App's update notes.
